LONGVIEW, Texas — An East Texas native is serving her country as a specialist in the Navy overseas.
A representative from the U.S. Navy shared a photo with CBS19 of Logistics Specialist Third Class Alexandra Adams, from Longview, Texas, applying grease to a water tight door aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Dewey in the Philippine Sea on Feb. 6.
The USS Dewey is forward-deployed and assigned to Commander, Task Force 71/ Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy's largest DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet's principal surface force, according to the Navy.
