LONGVIEW, Texas — A Longview man has died after being struck by a vehicle Monday night.
According to the Longview Police Department, around 7:50 p.m., police were called to the 1500 block of Alpine Rd. on reports of a crash involving a pedestrian.
Police say an SUV was traveling southbound on Alpine Rd. when a pedestrian, identified as Johnny Ray Johnston, 62, failed to yield right of way and walked out into the roadway where he was struck by the SUV.
Johnston was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
