Longview man accused of possessing, selling fentanyl indicted in Montana federal court

If convicted, he faces 20 years in prison, a $1 million fine and at least three years of supervised release, according to the indictment.

LONGVIEW, Texas — A Longview man has been indicted in federal court out of Montana for allegations of possessing and selling fentanyl. 

Shane Michael Kardash, 36, is charged with possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. The indictment in the U.S. District Court of Montana alleges that between July and December 2022, Kardash knowingly and unlawfully possessed a substance containing a detectable amount of fentanyl with the intent to distribute. 

Kardash was booked into the Gregg County Jail on Monday on U.S. Marshal detainer. He was released to another agency the next day. 

If convicted, he faces 20 years in prison, a $1 million fine and at least three years of supervised release, according to the indictment.
