LONGVIEW, Texas — The Longview ISD Board of Trustees approved timelines for multiple construction projects Monday, including the addition of a new multi-use indoor athletics facility.
The facility is expected to break ground by mid-2025, and will feature a 120-yard turf field, a weight room and both locker rooms and coaches offices. Batting cages, and golf simulation equipment will also be present in the new facility.
A new natatorium is also set to break ground in 2025, replacing the current one. The new building will feature 25-meter lanes and "far more spectator seating than currently available" within the current facility according to a press release from the board of trustees.
Lobo Stadium and Judson Stadium are also expected to receive upgrades within the next 30 months.
Other construction project timelines that were approved include a new transportation center, which is projected to be built by 2026, and an early childhood learning center, which aims to be finished by 2027.
