Longview ISD board approves 4 percent pay raise for teachers, staff members

LISD said these efforts help the school district maintain fiscal responsibility while ensuring Longview ISD stays a regional leader in staff compensation.

LONGVIEW, Texas — Longview ISD board trustees on Monday approved a 4 percent increase in pay for teachers and staff for the 2024-25 school year.

According to the school district, teachers will receive a 4 percent pay increase and all other district employees will receive a 4 percent increase in the midpoint as a part of the 2024-25 compensation plan.

LISD said these efforts help the school district maintain fiscal responsibility while ensuring Longview ISD stays a regional leader in staff compensation. The board also approved revisions, deletions and adjustments to certain employee stipends and supplemental pay.

Shalona McCray, chief human resources officer, said Longview ISD appreciates its employees and wants to attract and retain the best staff.

"This increase in staff compensation allows us to recruit and retain competitively in each position within the region," she said.
