LONGVIEW, Texas — Six members of the Longview Fire Department's water rescue team were deployed on Friday to assist with flood recovery across Texas.
Longview Fire Marshal Kevin May said earlier this week that two members were deployed. One went to San Antonio to be a part of a helicopter search and rescue team on Wednesday. Then on Thursday, the other traveled to College Station to be a water rescue group supervisor to assist with the possible flooding across the state.
Six members were placed on standby at the time. On Friday, those six were activated and will travel to College Station to be on standby and wait for further instruction.
