Plans for the upcoming Fresh by Brookshire's in Longview are moving forward as the Longview Economic Development Corp. approved the infrastructure improvement plan to support the store site.
The Longview location will be at the corner of U.S. Highway 259 and N. Fourth Street. Brookshire Grocery Co. expects to break ground early next year and the store should open in 2025, according to a statement from LEDCO.
LEDCO met Tuesday and gave the OK for the infrastructure improvement plan.

Brookshire Grocery Co. was founded in 1928 by Brad Brookshire's grandfather, Wood T. Brookshire, with the company's first store in Tyler.
The latest addition to the company will be the third Fresh by Brookshire's location. The Tyler store opened in 2011 and the location in Fate opened in 2022.
“I’m often asked for Longview to recruit specific businesses, and a Fresh store is one of the most common requests I hear,” said Mayor Andy Mack. “Brookshire's has been a tremendous community partner, and we can’t wait for them to bring this innovative grocery concept to Longview.”
Fresh offers several chef-prepared entrees, authentic Japanese ramen and Vietnamese pho counters, a taco bar, brick-oven Neapolitan-style pizza, an artisan bakery, dry-aged beef, full-service meat and seafood counter, a charcuterie and cheese selections, fresh produce with a large variety of organics and a full-service floral shop. There is also a coffee bar, hand-crafted gelato, patio dining, outdoor café, live music, and on-site parks with children’s playgrounds.
