LIST: East Texas communities to host events for total solar eclipse in April

CBS19 has gathered a list of events happening around the total eclipse across communities in East Texas.

TYLER, Texas — Parts of East Texas will be in the path of totality for the solar eclipse on April 8, several cities and organizations within the area will host events and provide preparation items for the eclipse weekend.

  • Eclipse Watching Party - Cain Center YMCA (11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free swimming, crafts, specials from Treehouse Cupcakes, membership specials from the Cain Center YMCA, and more. The Rotary Club also has solar eclipse glasses available at the Cain Center YMCA for $5 benefitting local students.)

CHANDLER

HARELTON

  • Eclipse Sip at Enoch's Stomp (Bring your lawn chairs to enjoy a charcuterie, glass of wine, and just relax. 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are $55 per person.)

PITTSBURG

  • Pilgrim Park Plaza (April 8, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Grab some lunch at one of the nearby food trucks, bring a lawn chair or blanket for comfort and immerse yourself in this unique celestial event.)
