TYLER, Texas — Parts of East Texas will be in the path of totality for the solar eclipse on April 8, several cities and organizations within the area will host events and provide preparation items for the eclipse weekend.
CBS19 has gathered a list of events happening around the total eclipse across communities in East Texas below:
TYLER
- Downtown Tyler (View the eclipse on at the downtown square. Live music will start at 10 a.m. with several acts, including Caden Crawford, The Kirby's, Fiction Love, Gypsum & The Travelers and the Tyler Junior College Jazz Band.)
- TJC Earth and Space Science Center Planetarium Shows (April 6, 8 p.m. 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.)
- East Texas Symphony Orchestra - Totality of the Sun (April 6, 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.)
- Discovery Science Place Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead Event (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- LIVE NASA Stream of Eclipse at Liberty Hall (noon to 3 p.m.)
- Broadway Square Mall (12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Broadway Square will be set up in the JC Penney parking lot near Broadway Ave. )
- Lunar Lunch on the Lawn at the Goodman-LeGrand Museum (11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 per person and must me purchased in advanced. Special eclipse viewing glasses provided.)
- Caldwell Zoo (Special, commemorative treats and gifts will be available April 6 to 8)
- 903 Rave Squad Concert - Totality (April 7 at Bricks Bar and Grill at a time to be determined.)
- Silent Disco (Saturday, April 6 at Pollard Park. 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.)
- Faulkner Park and Lindsey Park (City of Tyler recommended park viewings with glasses available for $3)
- Tyler State Park (Day passes are required)

LINDALE
- Total Eclipse of the Park (3-day event from April 6 to 8. The event kicks off on Saturday, April 6 with opening ceremony festivities, followed by various events and activities throughout the weekend.)
- The Sundown Venue Total Solar Eclipse (Gates open at 10 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.)
ATHENS
- Eclipse Watching Party - Cain Center YMCA (11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free swimming, crafts, specials from Treehouse Cupcakes, membership specials from the Cain Center YMCA, and more. The Rotary Club also has solar eclipse glasses available at the Cain Center YMCA for $5 benefitting local students.)
CHANDLER
- Total Solar Eclipse and Wine in the Vines (April 8, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will have Green Goat Charcuterie Boards, bottles and glasses of Green Goat Wine for purchase.)
HARELTON
- Eclipse Sip at Enoch's Stomp (Bring your lawn chairs to enjoy a charcuterie, glass of wine, and just relax. 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are $55 per person.)
PITTSBURG
- Pilgrim Park Plaza (April 8, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Grab some lunch at one of the nearby food trucks, bring a lawn chair or blanket for comfort and immerse yourself in this unique celestial event.)
