CHEROKEE COUNTY, Texas — Family members of a lineman who was injured in Cherokee County are asking the public's help to raise money for his recovery.
Dewayne Cantrell was identified by family as the lineman who was shocked by electricity while duty on Monday. According to a GoFundMe organized by one of his children, Cantrell lost both of his arms, but the family says he is doing well.
The fundraiser states that Cantrell was badly burned and he will be in need of several surgeries and rehabilitation.
"Anything will help. Thank you all so much. He's a loving husband and father of three and has seven grandkids," the description reads. "Again, thank you all for your prayers. Keep us in them at these times."
So far, the fundraiser has raised over $18,600 out of the $25,000 goal. To find the GoFundMe, click here.
