KILGORE, Texas — Kilgore ISD has canceled classes at its primary school due to electrical issues Thursday morning.
According to a Facebook post, the power company was called to investigate a malfunctioning fuse on the electrical pole. The company later told the district a power transformer is out. The issue, which only impacts the primary campus, will take the rest of the morning to resolve.
KISD is asking parents and guardians to pick up their students at the primary campus based on the normal afternoon student pick up procedures.
Authorized adults who may not have car tags will need to go into the front office and show valid identification to pick their child up. Students who can't be picked up Thursday morning will stay at the primary campus until arrangements can be made.
"The safety of our students is our top priority and we appreciate your patience as we work through this outage," KISD said.
