Most parents teach their kids not to play with fire.
For 21 young East Texans, that's not the case.
The Kilgore Fire Department hosted an Firefighter Summer camp for kids 8-14 in the Kilgore area.
The week long Camp is designed with hands-on situations that firefighters deal with everyday. From the using the jaws of life to even putting out a real fire, these kids got the full firefighter experience.
The Camp is designed to be fun, challenging, entertaining, and educational while providing a great opportunity to build a sense of teamwork and responsibility.
The Morning Loop team joined in on the hot action to learn a thing or two from the future firefighters.
On Friday, the department will graduate those kiddos and gain 21 new honorary Kilgore Firefighters.
