Kilgore College sets record enrollment

The last time the college broke an enrollment record was in 2010.

KILGORE, Texas — Kilgore College announced Thursday they set a record with an enrollment of 7,288 students for the 2024-2025 school year.

“Kilgore College's ongoing emphasis on enhancing the student experience has contributed to this success,” Kilgore College President Dr. Brenda Kays said. “We focus on supporting our students throughout their entire educational journey – from their first interest in Kilgore College to graduation – whether they aim to earn a certificate, transfer to a four-year university or return to upskill or reskill in their careers. Our commitment to improving the student experience has truly made a difference.”

The previous record was set in 2010 when 6,694 students enrolled, and the school is expecting to break their record again when students enroll for the fall two semester.

“We can credit this enrollment record in part to our combined efforts to get students signed up for classes including ‘Star Days,’ KC-sponsored events for admissions, advising, registration, text message campaigns and efforts by the financial aid department to help students complete the FAFSA to find ways to pay for classes,” Vice President of Student Learning, Engagement, and Success Dr. Tracy Skopek said. “It is truly a collective effort, and we are thrilled to have reached this significant milestone in setting a new record for student enrollment.”
