TYLER, Texas — The first KidPRENEUR Business Expo, hosted by EmpowerNet, was held at Pollard Park Saturday.
The event celebrates young entrepreneurs and offers a marketplace for young business owners to showcase their products, according to a press release from EmpowerNet, an organization that promotes entrepreneurship through networking with business leaders as well as community engagement.
Products ranging from homemade crafts to custom prints were on display, crafted by young business owners in the community. Organizers said they had nearly 20 vendors show up to the expo.
At the KidPRENEUR Business Expo, the country's future CEOs were able to have some fun before the start of school, learning valuable skills that they will carry with them in their careers.
"It's important, when you get older and you want to have this job you can have better customer service to talk to more people," Kimberly Montiel, a Kidpreneur, said.
Organizers added kids rarely have the opportunity to show off their creativity and follow their passions. This event hopes to bridge that gap and show off the talent within young East Texas entrepreneurs.
