TYLER, Texas — Keep Tyler Beautiful is hosting its annual Park Service Day Saturday at the Tyler Senior Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The day is a yearly tradition featuring hundreds of volunteers as they pursue beautification and restoration projects for local parks. This year, restorations will be held to one space.
"We've decided to concentrate our efforts on one area to create a unified community atmosphere," Keep Tyler Beautiful Coordinator Casey Williams said. "We're eager to join forces with the community to enhance these valued places and make them even more welcoming!"
Keep Tyler Beautiful is an affiliate of the larger Keep Texas Beautiful, aiming to bring the community together in cleaning up local outdoor spaces.
Locally, the organization participates in several programs, one of which pairs local artists with sponsors to place designs around traffic boxes.
Volunteers for the Park Service Day can pre-register online. Lunch and a free shirt will be provided to pre-registered volunteers.
