TYLER, Texas — The city of Tyler will celebrate a significant milestone on Tuesday for one of its beautification programs.
Keep Tyler Beautiful will reveal the 100th box wrap for the Beauty and the Box program, an initiative that has transformed traffic boxes into works of art by local artists since 2016.
The celebration will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the corner of 5th Street and Baxter Ave. Local artist Odessa Helm designed this traffic box.
Beauty and the Box started as a pilot program of 10 boxes in the Downtown Business Arts and Culture District, the city of Tyler said.
Artists can submit their artwork for future boxes at ktyb@tylertexas.com. Information about art guidelines and sponsorship opportunities can be found at https://bit.ly/KTyBBeautyandtheBox.
