Investigators do not yet know what the motive was for the shootings, the sheriff's office said.

ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas — A 14-year-old has been charged with capital murder after two people were killed in an Angelina County shooting early Wednesday morning.

According to the Angelina County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrived at the scene of a double homicide that happened at a home in Burke between Lufkin and Diboll just off of US Highway 59. The call for the shooting came in just after midnight on Wednesday.

Deputies arrested a juvenile in connection with the shooting deaths of Morgan McRae, 39, and Hannah Griffin, 31. McRae was found dead in a bedroom of the residence with multiple gunshot wounds, while Griffin passed away from her injuries at the hospital, the sheriff's office said.

Angelina County Sheriff Tom Selman confirmed the age of the juvenile as 14 years old and said the suspect and the victims were all members of the same household.

Investigators found the weapon used in the shooting while executing a search warrant. The juvenile accused of killing McRae and Griffin is charged with capital murder and was booked into the Angelina County Juvenile Detention Facility.

Officials are considering charges related to the endangerment of other children who were inside the home. Investigators do not yet know what the motive was for the shootings, the ACSO said.

Selman added that no other suspect is involved in the offense.
