JACKSONVILLE, Texas — The Jacksonville Police Department has identified a man who was struck and killed by a train last week.
According to Jacksonville police, the train struck a 61-year-old man from Nevada, around 11 a.m., in the 100 block of North Gillespie Ave. The pedestrian was walking in front of the train and did not respond to train warning horns. Police say they have positively identified the man, but haven't been able to locate relatives.
"Following an investigation, speaking to witnesses and the train crew, it appears that this was an intentional act by the victim," the JPD said.
The JPD says they will continue to work to notify next-of-kin.
