JACKSONVILLE, Texas — The city of Jacksonville is mourning the loss of former Jacksonville Police Chief Reece Daniel.
According to the Jacksonville Police Department's Facebook page, Daniel passed away Friday morning from a brief illness.
"He served the citizens of Jacksonville from 2006 until his retirement in 2016," Jacksonville PD said.
Chief Daniel spent nearly 40 years in law enforcement, including 15 as a police chief.
