TYLER, Texas — The intersection of Fleishel Street and Lake Street in Tyler’s Medical District is set to reopen Wednesday after construction for the upcoming UT Tyler School of Medicine caused the closure.
According to the university, the road closure was used to allow for infrastructure modifications to accommodate the construction of the UT Tyler Medical Education Building, which once open will house the medical school.
Once Fleishel Street reopens, Lake Street will be closed through early January, with cooperation from UT Health East Texas and nearby businesses, for the contractor's use. The intersections of Lake Street and Beckham Avenue and Lake Street and Fleishel Street will stay open, the university announced.
