TYLER, Texas — East Texas has seen its share of damage from severe weather. 

When your home or business is impacted by storms, residents are encouraged to report the damage to the Texas Division of Emergency Management. 

The TDEM damage assessment form allows officials to track damage and identify needs, Smith County Emergency Management Coordinator Brandon Moore said.

According to the form, reporting damages to TDEM is a voluntary activity, and it is not a substitute for reporting damage to a person's insurance agency and it does not guarantee disaster relief assistance.
