JEFFERSON, Texas — Historic Jefferson Railway building and its gas powered locomotive are for sale as the owners recently announced their retirement.
According to its website, Francene and Diamond Don Rainey, owners of the railway in Jefferson, have retired. They will no longer be running the gas powered locomotive. The railway will also not be promoting the following events:
- Diamond Don’s Annual AHRMA National Vintage Motocross race
- Annual Vintage Motocross Ride Day
- Halloween Express Train
- Christmas Express Train
- The Great Locomotive Train Chase
- Civil War Battle
The website states the depot, located at 400 East Austin in Jefferson, will be open periodically throughout the week to handle mail, email, phone calls and general business matters.
