LONGVIEW, Texas — A Longview pizza joint is thanking a legendary East Texas restaurant for a generous donation to help get them through the weekend.

Restaurants across the state have begun offering delivery and drive-thru/pick-up options following an executive order by Gov. Greg Abbott to halt in-restaurant dining in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to The Page Pub & Pizzeria, Pizza King gave them two cases of mozzarella cheese so they could open on Sunday. The Page says the cheese will hold them over until their next delivery on Monday.

"I have loved going to this place since I was a little kid," the owner of The Page wrote on Facebook. "The old ownership was amazing, and now I know the new ownership is too! Everyone go and help them out through this trying time too!"

The late Hal Inman opened Pizza King in Longview in 1965.
