LONGVIEW, Texas — A Gregg County man has been arrested after evading law enforcement in a multi-agency pursuit.

Lemarcus Vercher, 26, was taken into custody after allegedly fleeing from several law enforcement agencies, according to Gregg County Chief Deputy Craig Harrington. Officials said they received a call about domestic violence in the Seven Pines area of Gilmer Road. During the course of the incident, Vercher allegedly displayed a firearm before the victim was able to flee to another location. Vercher followed, and was notified that law enforcement was en route.

Vercher reportedly fled the scene in the victim's vehicle. The Texas Department of Public Safety pursued him down Gilmer Road with the assistance of the Gregg County Sheriff's Office. The chase ended at Maverick Apartments on Gilmer Rd.

Harrington said Longview police, GSCO and DPS set up a perimeter in the area, and drones were called in from Kilgore Police Department and GCSO. The suspect then allegedly fled into a nearby apartment. Deputies from the Gregg County Sheriff's Office entered the home and found Vercher underneath a bed. Vercher was then taken into custody and booked into Gregg County Jail. Officers recovered a firearm from Vercher.
