The Gregg County Fire Marshal is asking locals to "refrain from outside burning" of trash and other debris.
Their request comes because the recent dryness of the weather is beginning to contribute to wildfire intensity.
According to a statement sent by the Gregg County Sheriff's Office, "afternoon winds and low relative humidity will raise the risk of fire danger.Cooking and fireworks are contributing factors this time of year for wildfires and fires in general."
Locals are asked to be extremely cautious, and to have a way to extinguish fires (fire extinguisher, water hose, Etc.).
