LONGVIEW, Texas — The Gregg County District Clerk's Office is warning residents of a new scam involving fake warrants in the mail.
According to the clerk's office on Facebook, a Gregg County resident reported finding a "warrant" in their mail. The post said that if a person has a warrant, it will be served to them in person.
"The person that received this did the correct thing and called us to verify. Warrants will never be served by phone or mail, please do not ever respond to these," the post read.
