HENDERSON, Texas — A GoFundMe has been set up to help the girlfriend and two children of the 24-year-old East Texas man who was recently found dead in a creek.
Trenton (Trent) Staneart, 24, of Henderson, was found dead Sunday in a creek off E. Lacy Street in the Palestine area after he had been missing for over a week, police said.
In a GoFundMe account shared Monday, a friend of Staneart's family said she organized the effort to help his girlfriend Kylie and their two young children.
"After a week long search to find Trent it came to a sudden and tragic loss to find that he has left this earth to gain his wings. No one can imagine the unbearable heartbreak this family is experiencing," the fundraiser description reads. "As Kylie navigates through the coming days, weeks and months without the father to her two babies we are asking for any support you feel led to give. We all thank you for your continued love, support and prayers during this difficult time."
So far, the fundraiser, which has a $10,000 goal, has reached almost $6,000.
According to the Palestine Police Department, Staneart was last seen around 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20, leaving the Anderson County Sheriff's Office. His cause of death is unknown at this time.
