Gladewater ISD superintendent resigns to work for Texas Education Agency

Trustees have named former Superintendent Mike Morrison as interim chief as the board searches for a full-time replacement.

GLADEWATER, Texas — Sedric Clark will leave his post July 31 after seven years as Gladewater ISD’s superintendent and overseeing one of the district’s largest shifts — a move to a four-day school week.

Clark, who also has been a principal at Foster Middle School in Longview, resigned July 15. He will remain superintendent emeritus until the end of the month. Trustees have named former Superintendent Mike Morrison as interim chief as the board searches for a full-time replacement.

In a joint news release, Clark and Gladewater ISD trustees described the decision as mutual and praised a number of accomplishments under Clark’s tenure.
