GLADEWATER, Texas — Gladewater ISD is now one of multiple East Texas school districts that will make the move to a four-day school week.
The decision was made during the GISD School Board meeting Monday night after parents were sent a survey earlier this year regarding the possibility of the change.
The district says students and staff will be off Mondays beginning this fall.
Other East Texas school districts that have made the move to a four-day school week include:

- Corrigan-Camden
- DeKalb
- Elkhart
- Frankston
- Grapeland
- Kennard
- New Boston
- New Diana
- New Summerfield
- Overton
- Pewitt
- Rusk
- Timpson
