Gilmer's East Texas Yamboree celebrates tradition with yams, royalty and carnival rides

CBS19 will be live at the Yamboree starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17. We will also be live streaming the Queen's Parade at 11 a.m. Saturday in downtown Gilmer.

The East Texas Yamboree in Gilmer is celebrating its 87th year with pageant queens, live music and dancing, carnivals and tons of fun. 

Exciting events kick off on Wednesday and will run through Saturday, including concerts, livestock and ag mechanics show, the queen's coronation, a carnival, parades, gospel music and the barn dance. 

The Yamboree draws thousands of people to the Gilmer area and has celebrated yams since 1935. The 2024-2025 East Texas Yamboree Queen Elect is Katie Ella Henson

Country music legend Pat Green will be this year's barn dance headliner. 

CBS19 will be live at the Yamboree starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17. We will also be live streaming the Queen's Parade at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, in downtown Gilmer.
