GILMER — Two burglary suspect were apparently shot by the owner of a tobacco store early Thursday morning in Gilmer.
According to the Gilmer Police Department, officers were sent to Discount Tobacco on a suspects call. When they arrived, the owner told the officers he encountered two suspects and fired shots. The suspects then fled the store.
Gilmer police later received a call from Longview Regional Hospital saying the two suspects were there. One of the suspects was shot was in the chest while the other was shot in the buttocks.
Gilmer police are investigating the incident.
