GILLESPIE COUNTY, Texas — Gillespie County sheriff's deputies are investigating after a woman shot a man she says kidnapped her.
According to the sheriff, the 45-year-old woman called for help on Friday around 12:40 p.m., saying she had been drugged and kidnapped and that she shot someone. She was found near a winery off East U.S. 290 near Fredericksburg.
The woman described the vehicle the man was in and the weapon she used. Deputies found it on the other side of the road. The man was dead in the front seat.
On Saturday afternoon, investigators identified the man as 49-year-old Lance Damon Reid, who had been living in the Houston area. The woman is a resident of Montgomery, the Gillespie County Sheriff's Office said.
