Former NFL cornerback Troy Vincent Sr. to headline East Texas Crisis Center luncheon fundraiser

The crisis center said Vincent is a dynamic speaker who is also a passionate advocate for survivors of domestic violence.

TYLER, Texas — Former National Football League player Troy Vincent, Sr. will be coming to Tyler this fall to support the mission of the East Texas Crisis Center.

Vincent, who is now the NFL executive vice president of operations, will be a part of the “Advancing the Game” luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at W.T. Brookshire Conference Center in Tyler. The luncheon will be a critical fundraiser for the crisis center. 

Vincent played 16 seasons as a cornerback while in the NFL after he was drafted by the Miami Dolphins as the seventh overall pick in the 1992 NFL Draft. He also played for the Philadelphia Eagles, the Buffalo Bills and the Washington Redskins. As the executive vice president of operations for the NFL, he applies the highest standards to enhance and preserve football and its value to society.

"As a national leader, and advocate, his efforts have catalyzed critical change in the movement to end domestic violence. Troy’s commitment to leadership over violence has allowed him to have a powerful voice for the voiceless," the ETCC event description reads. 

Vincent has visited shelters, spoken to men’s groups and challenges others to lend their platforms to fight injustice.

ETCC provides a safe haven for people impacted by family violence, dating violence, sexual assault and violent crime. The nonprofit serves Smith, Henderson, Van Zandt, Wood and Rains counties.
