Former Angelina County deputy dies following hospitalization for fractured vertebrae

"Randy will be missed by all that knew him and especially his extended family at the county," officials said.

ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas — Former Angelina County Sheriff's Office deputy, Randy Ware, has died from his injuries following an off-duty fall on January 24.

According to the Angelina County Sheriff's Office, Ware died shortly after 8 p.m. on Saturday at a local Tyler hospital following complications of a fractured vertebrae in his neck.

His colleges remember Ware as a long-time veteran of law enforcement when he began his service with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office in 1985, working full time until 2014.

Ware was then transferred to manage the Angelina County Auditor's Office keeping record of all the inventory and county department's physical assets and properties.

Leading up to retirement, Randy worked as a Reserve Deputy while participating in a variety of department functions for nearly 40 years.

"Randy will be missed by all that knew him and especially his extended family at the county," officials said.

Arrangements for Ware's visitation is set for Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Carroway Funeral Home in Lufkin and the funeral on Saturday from 10 a.m. at the Lufkin First Baptist Church.
