GROVETON, Texas — The storms that came through the Lone Star State dumped a ton of water in Deep East Texas.
Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace was out in the elements on Thursday night keeping people updated on Facebook. The sheriff's office said there were a few wrecks around the county.
Angelina County has been hit with storms in the past two weeks which had local officials keeping a close eye on the sky.
"For the last two weeks we’ve had historic rainfalls, anywhere from ten inches in a day to nine inches another day, so the ground is completely saturated," City of Lufkin Emergency Manager Jess Moody said.
Fortunately, the Lufkin area did not see the rainfall that was anticipated Thursday, but they still had some downed trees which caused power outages in the area.
