SMITH COUNTY, Texas — A Flint-Gresham Fire Department truck was heavily damaged in a wreck Thursday night.
Around 6:20 p.m., the Flint-Gresham Fire Department was dispatched to a crash at the intersection of Toll 49 and Farm-to-Market Road 2493.
While trying to find the accident scene, the fire truck was struck by an 18-wheeler that jack-knifed on an icy overpass.
Engine 1 sustained significant damage and is currently out of service. The 18- wheeler also suffered significant damage as a result.
At the time of the accident bridges in Smith County were icy and several accidents had been reported.
The Department of Public Safety worked the accident scene and both vehicles were removed from the roadway by a local towing company.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
