TYLER, Texas — The second Fit City Tyler Health & Wellness Expo is back for its second year.
Organizers announced on Monday that the expo will be Thursday, Jan. 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. at W.T. Brookshire Conference Center.
The one-stop spot for health and fitness resources is returning with representatives from fitness, nutrition, and anything people need to lead a healthier life. The event will also kick off the 2025 Lighten Up East Texas event with the first weigh-in to compete for a $5,000 prize.
And this year there will be a new event.
"Our second major event with the expo is the fittest Tylerite competition. So we are challenging everybody who is fit in the Tyler area to actually show your stuff and let's see who is the fittest," said Terrence Ates with Fit City Tyler.
The competition will see competitors performing 10 different athletic sets for one minute each at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium that day and then also running a 5K race later to come up with the final score to name the champion.
