East Texas is getting its first taste of luxury. The Copper Ridge Lofts will be the first luxury apartments in the region, and are being built in Tyler.
The Copper Ridge Lofts are being built off Old Jacksonville Highway right behind Fresh by Brookshire’s. Construction starts in just 10 days.
What exactly is a luxury apartment?
According to Copper Ridge Lofts Developer Will Melton, “some place that has a really high-end feel with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.”
But Melton said it’s more than just the design of the building, it’s the immediacy of having access to restaurants, shopping and the proximity of a social scene.
Melton said he modeled the style of the lofts after Uptown – an upscale, urban area in Dallas.
“We need to have some place here for the doctors and the attorneys – people that are successful,” Melton said. “They want a place where they can go, have their own space, and when they lock their doors at night, it’s safe.”
The first story of the building will be boutique shopping, doctor’s office, coffee shop and fine dining, including a new chop house coming to Tyler. The second story will house the lofts. Behind the building will be a gated parking garage.
The lofts will even have an herb garden, which an unnamed chef from Fresh will help maintain.
“These lofts fill a void that Tyler never had,” developer Greg Caton said. “The majority of people looking at these lofts already live in Holly Tree and the Azalea District and are looking to downsize and live in a gated area,” Caton said.
Looking at floor plans, there will be two bedroom and three bedroom lofts available. The starting price will be between $325,000 and $375,000, according to Caton.
The lofts will be finished and ready for move-in May 2017.
