RUSK COUNTY, Texas — Local fire crews responded to a grass fire that threatened a residence in Rusk County Monday afternoon.
According to the Crims Chapel Volunteer Fire Department, firefighters responded to a grass fire in an open field around 2:45 p.m.
CCVFD and the Kilgore Fire Department quickly controlled the one to two-acre fire that was threatening a local house.
Fire crews reported no injuries or damage on the property.
CCVFD advises locals to use caution when burning because this is the time of year when dormant fuels can ignite and spread quickly.
