No injuries reported after fire destroys house in Whitehouse

Elijah Sanders said he was at work when he got the call that his home was on fire.

WHITEHOUSE, Texas — No one was injured after a fire destroyed a home Thursday morning in Whitehouse.

According to Smith County Emergency Services, crews responded to reports of a house fire on 17858 County Road 219 in Whitehouse around 7:45 a.m. on Thursday morning.

Elijah Sanders said he was at work when he got the call that his home was on fire. The home, which was passed down from Sanders parents, is a complete loss.

Smith County Emergency Services District 2 responded to the scene and firefighters were able to contain the fire. 

The home was safely evacuated, according to officials, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
