Fire crews extinguish microwave fire near Payne Springs

One man was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation and three other residents went to the emergency room with their own vehicles to be checked out.

PAYNE SPRINGS, Texas — Fire crews were able to extinguish an microwave that caught on fire early Thursday morning in Payne Springs. 

According to Payne Springs Fire Rescue, fire crews responded to County Road 2852 at 12:57 a.m. on Thursday for reports of a smoking microwave.

When fire crews arrived on scene, they found light smoke coming from the microwave in the kitchen that was already extinguished by residents inside of the home.

After further investigation, crews were able to remove the stove and microwave and assisted in ventilating the home from excess smoke.

One man was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation and three other residents went to the emergency room with their own vehicles to be checked out.
