Family loses everything after house fire in Log Cabin area

The home was destroyed and the Caney City Police Department (CCPD) says the family lost everything.

LOG CABIN, Texas — A family is need after losing their home in a Tuesday afternoon fire in Henderson County.

According to the Payne Springs Fire Department, the fire broke out around 1:35 p.m., at a home at the intersection of Cherokee Ln. and San Jacinto in the Log Cabin area.

The following departments also responded to the blaze:

  • Gun Barrel City Fire Department
  • Eustace Fire Department 
  • Log Cabin Fire Department 
  • Caney City Fire Department 
  • Malakoff Fire Department 
  • Southside Fire Department 
  • Red Cross Department 
  • UT Health EMS
  • American Red Cross of Henderson County

The home was destroyed and the Caney City Police Department said the family lost everything.

The CCPD is seeking the following donations for the family:

  • Toiletries 
  • Men's 4XL shirts
  • Men's 46x32 pants 
  • Women’s 2XL shirts
  • Women's size 14 pants

"Any help would be greatly appreciated by the family," the CCPD said.
