East Texas woman hopes to reel in $50,000 at upcoming fishing tournament

Denise Sustaita is one of only five women invited to fish the tournament.

ETOILE, Texas — An East Texas woman is making a huge splash on the competitive fishing scene.

Denise Sustaita, of Etoile, was invited to take part in LithiumHub's inaugural IONIC Lithium Battery Champions Invitational Bass Tournament. 

"This 2-day tournament will be like no other, and include payouts totaling $100k," a press release from LithiumHub said. "The biggest prize of all will be the one at the end holding the bragging rights as the Best Bass Angler in the Country."

Sustaita is one of only five women invited to fish the tournament. There are 50 anglers competing overall.

'We have never seen competitors from different organizations compete against each other, until now," LithiumHub said. "Some of the biggest names in the sport will compete against one another along with our 5 Golden Ticket winners that will get an opportunity to play with the best."

The tournament will take place Nov. 16-17 on Lake Hartwell in Anderson County, South Carolina. The tournament will be broadcast live on lithiumhub.com and www.phyx.tv.
