HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — An East Texas woman accused of shooting her boyfriend has been charged with murder.
Patricia Childs, 61, of Eustace, called the Henderson County Sheriff's Office saying she shot her boyfriend on Monday night in the 15000 block of Morning Star Circle in Eustace. She said her boyfriend, Troy Aldredge, was not breathing, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies found Aldredge was dead with obvious gunshot wounds just outside the residence. They found Childs sitting inside the residence with a handgun on the floor of the living area of the home, according to HCSO.
Childs received treatment from EMS and was taken to UT Athens Emergency Room at her request. A search warrant was issued for the home and an autopsy was ordered.
She was arrested for murder after being released from the hospital.
