TEXARKANA, Texas — An East Texas teen has been arrested for the murder of a 17-year-old boy in Texarkana.
According to the Texarkana Texas Police Department, around 1:30 a.m., on Monday, officers responded to an apartment complex in the 1000 block of College Dr., where they found a 17-year-old boy dead with a gunshot wound.
Police say a 16-year-old boy was arrested by officers and taken to the juvenile detention facility.
"We believe that the two boys were friends," police said. "The gun that we recovered at the scene had previously been reported stolen in Hope, Arkansas."
The incident is still under investigation.
