WHITEHOUSE, Texas — Dunkin' Donuts made a surprise visit to an East Texas elementary school to reward a teacher using their brand for teaching exercises.
Monica Miller is a 5th grade teacher at Stanton-Smith Elementary School in the Whitehouse Independent School District. As part of her curriculum, she transformed her classroom, making it entirely Dunkin' Donuts themed to teach her students how to use decimals.
"I had Dunkin' Donuts boxes that I got donated from the Dunkin location," Miller said. "I had donut games like where you're doing a donut toss, building a donut, answering donut questions, creating menu items and calculating the totals from the Dunkin Donuts menu."
And the company took notice — after Miller uploaded her teaching method to TikTok, they stopped by the school to show their appreciation. Miller was surprised with free donuts for a month from Dunkin', and students in Miller's class were also treated with a donut decorating activity and Dunkin' themed coloring pages.
"It turns out, they were wanting to say thank you and get back to the kids from the activity that I did in my classroom to review decimal operations," Miller said.
"I'm super excited. I mean, I'm really gracious for it, and I just don't know what to think. Stanton runs on Dunkin'," she added.
