East Texas Summer Feeding Program Fun Day brings families out

Families came to the Glass Recreation Center to get free food, Kona Ice, and to have fun with their kids during East Texas Food Bank’s Summer Feeding Program Fun Day on Tuesday.

Karren Dotsen came with her grandkids after hearing about the event on the news. They got balloon animals, their faces painted and shaved ice. She is glad the East Texas Food Bank hosts this event.

“Some don't have food and nourishment during the summer months, due [to] the parents working and lack of finances,” Dotsen said. So I think it's a good program that they do.”
