Popular East Texas steakhouse to stop serving dinner starting in July

They say they will still cater and host private events in the evening, but will not be open to the public at night for dinner.

KILGORE, Texas — A popular Kilgore steakhouse says they will provide lunch only beginning in July.

They say they will still cater and host private events in the evening, but will not be open to the public at night for dinner.

Jack Ryan's Steak & Chophouse made the announcement Monday on their Facebook page.

"All of us here at Jack Ryan’s have been blown away by the continued support of our restaurant," the eatery said. "The last 12 years we have had the privilege to host you and your family’s countless celebrations, anniversaries, birthdays, and weddings. It has truly been an honor. There are a lot of changes taking place. Starting July 9th, after our staff vacation, we will resume for lunch only, with an expanded menu, bringing a little of the dinner flare, features ,appetizers, etc.  We will also still be hosting private events, birthday parties, business dinners, in the evening. This is a tough business with demanding hours, and this change is necessary to spend a little more time with our families and friends. Please show your continued support for Jack Ryan’s in the future. Our last dinner service will be June 29th. Cheers."

Jack Ryan's is located at 119 N. Longview St. in Kilgore.
