East Texas nonprofit teaming up with Ruby's Mexican Restaurants to give free tacos on Election Day

Este Poder, a nonprofit that aims to build power in rural East Texas communities of color, is partnering with Ruby's Mexican Restaurants to give tacos to voters.

TYLER, Texas — Election Day is on Saturday, May 4, and one local nonprofit is teaming up with a popular Mexican restaurant to offer tacos to voters. 

Este Poder, a nonprofit that aims to build power in rural East Texas communities of color, is partnering with Ruby's Mexican Restaurant locations to provide tacos to voters in East Texas. 

According to a Facebook post, interested voters must show their "I Voted" sticker from the May 4 election, show the "Taco 'Bout Voting" flyer and fill out the Este Poder "Pledge To Vote/Stay Informed" card to receive a ticket to redeem a free order of tacos doblados. The event begins at 2 p.m. and will conclude at 7 p.m.
