GILMER, Texas — An Upshur County man was sentenced to 50 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to having child porn on his phone, including photos of children as young as 5 years old.
Clinton Scott Yale, 36, entered a guilty plea to two counts of child pornography on Monday. He was then sentenced to 50 years for each child porn charge, and he received an additional two year sentence in state jail for possession of lewd visual material case, according to the Upshur County District Attorney's Office.
A person who Yale was in a relationship with found hidden files of multiple videos and photographs of child victims on Yale's phone in October 2023. His partner then reported what they saw to law enforcement. Investigators found the files, including some that showed children who were as young as 5 years old, according to the district attorney's office.
Investigators also found he secretly recorded two children, which is the reason why he was charged with possession of lewd visual material case.
"I would like to thank the Upshur County Sheriff's Office for thoroughly investigating this case, especially Investigator Michael Barton," the UCDAO said.
