A Marshall man was arrested for sexual assault of a child and evading arrest/detention with a vehicle following a multi-agency law enforcement effort.
According to the Marshall Police Department, Cameron Payton, 21, was taken into custody Tuesday, April 16, in Daingerfield.
He was booked into the Morris County Jail and and will soon be moved to Harrison County.
The MPD says Payton is also being investigated for illegally modifying weapons. Additional charges are pending.
“This is a great example of the Marshall Police Department and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office working together and coordinating with regional law enforcement to stop dangerous individuals who are accused of violent crimes in our community," Marshall Police Department Chief Cliff Carruth said.
